Easy to Process. Outstanding Properties.

Kynar® PVDF polymers are easily processed using standard processing equipment and the resultant pipe, tubing, fitting, connectors and tanks are easily maintained and adapted during their long service life. Their inherent resistance to bacterial growth and their resistance to ozone, chlorine dioxide, sodium hypochlorite make them well suited to replce stainless steel and exotic metal alloys.

Components made from Kynar® PVDF do not rust or rouge. They are light weight, have excellent flame and smoke properties and are extremely durable. Certain grades are approved for water contact (NSF61, ACS and KTW approvals) - see your Arkema representative for the exact approvals for each chosen grade.

"ULTRA HIGH PURITY SOLUTIONS FOR THE SEMI CONDUCTOR AND BIOPHARMA INDUSTRIES"

Kynar® Fluoropolymer Solutions to Replace Metals & Exotic Alloys

• While metals rust and rouge with age, Kynar® PVDF components do not corrode
and do not need to be passivated
• Kynar® PVDF components are strong, tough and provide long-lasting, corrosion free service
• Kynar® PVDF systems have installed costs comparable to stainless steel—but much lower lifetime maintenance costs
• Kynar® PVDF components are lighter weight and more abrasion resistant than
stainless steel and are easily assembled with heat fitting/welding

Using Kynar® PVDF resin as a Replacement for PVC, HDPE, PP, CPVC

• Kynar® PVDF systems can operate at a much higher temperature – up to 302°F
(150°C) in some chemical environments
• Kynar® PVDF components are more resistant to radiation and to a broader range of chemicals
• Select Kynar® PVDF polymers contain no additives and are suitable for use in high purity applications
• Kynar® PVDF components exhibit excellent flame and smoke characteristics and are UL listed as such (contact us for details)
• Kynar® PVDF systems exhibit greater mechanical strength
• A wide range of Kynar® PVDF components are available due to ease of processing
• Kynar® PVDF components are resistant to chemicals with a pH up to 13 (copolymer grades)

Common Sterilization Techniques

Steam, irradiation, ozone, ultraviolet (UV), alcohols, and chemical sterilization.

1- Note that the Kynar® component temperature, pressure and sizing data above are compiled from industry data and are for illustrative purposes only. The actual temperature and pressure ratings of your system, as well as its resistance to chemical attack, are dependent on many environmental factors. Higher operating temperatures will reduce the Kynar® system’s maximum operating pressure; higher operating pressures will reduce the system’s maximum operating temperature. Higher operating pressures or tempera- tures may also require increased component wall thickness. Consult your Kynar® component supplier about your system’s operating parameters before purchasing a Kynar® system.
2- Kynar® components can withstand continuous temperatures as low as –30°C (-22°F) under certain con- ditions. Please contact your Kynar® component supplier with specific information about your application to determine the lowest recommended operating temperature of your Kynar® system.
